The BIACORE is an optical biosensor that uses surface plasmon resonance (SPR) for real-time monitoring of macromolecular interactions. Potential applications include affinity measurements and binding kinetics, concentration determinations, binding specificity analyses, and epitope mapping.

The OMRF BIACORE Core Facility has two BIACORE units: a Biacore 1000 and a Biacore 3000. The core facility provides training in the use of the instruments, and assistance with experimental planning and data analysis when needed.

Interested users are encouraged to check out training CD-ROMs and pertinent literature from the core facility. They can become authorized users after appropriate training on the instrument.
