  Proteomics

Introduction
Proteomics is the quantification of protein concentrations in a biological sample.  Cells produce soluble protein products as components of cell signaling, metabolic transport or cell matrix stabilizing components.  Measuring the biologic levels of these proteins can indicate the presence of homeostatic or non-homeostatic processes, specific abnormalities in the metabolic process or disturbances in the cell matrix.

Ongoing research in the area of protein expression in different disease states or biological processes has yielded a rich template for ongoing research.  We use three different platforms for proteomic analysis; Meso-Scale (MSD), Luminex and ELISA.  Unlike ELISA, MSD & Luminex provide a platform on which multiple targets can be measured simultaneously in a multiplex.
