- cell biology and pathology of vascular endothelium
- pathology of artheosclerosis and thrombosis: thrombin and fibrin generation
- role of tissue factor - driven pathway of coagulation, anticoagulant and antithrombotic mechanisms, with particular
  emphasis on TFPI
- thin section electron microscopy
- confocal microscopy
- animal models in vascular pathology (hypercholesterolemia and diabetes)
- immunocytochemistry (light / electron microscopy)
- protein chemistry
- functional assays involving coagulation factors
- cell culture
