OKLAHOMA CITY and COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, October 19, 2005—Findings, the magazine of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, has won the Silver Quill Award as top magazine from the Southern Region of the International Association of Business Communicators. The award was announced Tuesday in College Station, Texas, at the region’s annual conference.

In earning the Award of Excellence, Findings bested competitors from 16 states, including Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia and Oklahoma. Other entries included magazines produced by Duke University, Alabama Power and Michelin.

“The scientists at OMRF are among the finest in the country, and their work deserves a magazine that reflects their excellence,” said OMRF creative director Jenny Lee, who received the award along with Findings editor Adam Cohen. “We couldn’t be more pleased with this honor.”

Established in 1991, Findings is a free publication of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. It is published three times a year and mailed to more than 70,000 readers in Oklahoma and throughout the U.S. To receive Findings, please call (405) 271-7400.

At the conference Tuesday, OMRF’s annual scientific report also earned an Award of Merit. That award was presented to Lee and Shari Hawkins, who serves as editor of the report.
